Typical Things a Cluster B Says
People who suffer from any of the Cluster B disorders tend to have certain ways of talking and expressing things. Although each disorder has its own unique behaviors, many of the things that are said by a Cluster B, are eerily familiar to anyone who has ever dealt with one. After the love bombing idealization stage, they will say and do anything to gain control, assert their authority, shatter their partner’s confidence and devalue everything that their partner loves. They will also start explaining away their own toxic behavior to make it look like it was caused by their partner. Here are some of the most common things they might say:
· It’s not my fault, you . . .
· It’s all in your head.
· I know more about this than you do.
· I can’t believe you enjoy doing this.
· I’m not really like that.
· You must really hate me.
· You made me do it.
· You’re talking over me again.
· Why do you keep bringing up the past?
· Stop interrupting me!
· Look at me when I’m talking to you!
· You made me lose my thought.
· I reacted that way because you . . .
· That’s just the way I am.
· You like that? It’s terrible.
· I’m sorry I can’t be perfect for you.
· That’s not what I said.
· That’s not what I meant.
· I’m not a liar, I don’t lie.
· I never said that.
· I would never do that.
· You started it.
· Get over it.
· Shut up, I’m talking!
· I love you; I just don’t like you.
· You’re pathetic.
· Oh, grow up.
· Don’t interrupt me!
· Stop being so sensitive.
· If you really loved me, you would . . .
· I can’t do this anymore.
· Stop lying.
· Go ahead, cry your big crocodile tears.
· Yeah, make me look like the mean person!
· If you’re lucky, I’ll forgive you.
· You’re supposed to love me unconditionally.
· Yeah, go tell all your friends how horrible I am.
· You just need to trust me and listen to me.
· You broke my trust, now you have to earn it back.
· I don’t like your friends, they’re not good enough for you.
